![]() ![]() Every single employee in the games industry who talks about how toxic the fandom is, who knows they brigade forums and everything else, well they are just wrong. I mean, that’s what you are saying here, right? That bigotry doesn’t exist, that every single criticism of this game is good faith and entirely based on the merits. ![]() People need to stop deflecting and blaming 'the racists', and just accept that, for most people, the game was just mediocre and thus doesn't deserve a sequel.Īlways so interesting to me to watch how over and over we can watch people brigade content and yet folks are like “it plays absolutely no role whatsoever”. Forspoken had very few merits, which is why it flopped. There are plenty of minority or female focused pieces of media that succeed in spite of a certain crowd trying to put them down. people who actually spent $70 of their hard earned cash and weren't put off by the gender or race of the protagonist. Critics (who are overwhelmingly on the 'woke' side of the political spectrum) gave it poor reviews, as did most people on Steam i.e. The reason Forspoken won't get a sequel is because it was not received well and flopped in sales as a result. The vitriol for the Last of Us 2 was far more dramatic than the one for Forspoken but that didn't stop that game from selling over ten million copies. The idea that a vocal group of internet edgelords has any sort of influence on a game's success or failure is laughable.
